GerogiaNolanPayton 100The Georgia & Nolan Payton Archive of Sacred Music consists of music, books, periodicals, documents, audio & visual materials, and oral histories. The primary goal of the Archive is to facilitate research and documentation of collections of African Diaspora sacred music (church music and religious concert music) created and/or performed by the multicultural population of Southern California.

California State University Dominguez Hills and the Georgia & Nolan Payton Archive for the Study of African Diaspora Sacred Music and Musicians present LIVING LEGENDS FESTIVAL CONCERT 2009 - A Celebration of the Musical Masters of African Diaspora Sacred Music.

Featuring the Living Legends Festival Choir with Living Legend Dr. Rosephanye Powell and Living Legend Professor Iris Stevenson.

With voices from The Elite Choir of Crenshaw High School; The Westchester Concert Choir of Westchester High School (Michael Wright, director); Dorsey High School Choir (Crystal Nichols, director); Washington Prep High School Choir (Roderick Hines, director); dlw Community Chorale (Dr. Don Lee White, director); CSU Dominguez Hills Jubilee Choir (Dr. Hansonia Caldwell, director); CSU Dominguez Hills Chamber Singers (Dr. Sally Etcheto, director); The Delta Choraliers and the Alpha Kappa Alpha Chorus; and numerous other community choirs and The Living Legacy of ODETTA performed by Dianne Wright

The program is multidimensional, and includes the Georgia and Nolan Payton Archive of Sacred Music, the Dominguez Hills Jubilee Choir, and the African Diaspora Sacred Music and Musicians Network & Forum.
